I was born on May 10, 1985 in Madrid, and now I live in Santander with my wife and daughter.
I love digitalization because it empowers human beings.
It allows us, as people, to contribute the best of ourselves, leaving automatable tasks in the hands of intelligent systems that free us.
I currently enjoy working with the best high-performance team I have ever worked with, directing the technology (IT) area of Fonestar Sistemas.
Skills
Over the years I have been growing professionally, and of course I will continue to do so :)
These are the topics I master most currently:
Team management, leadership and talent development.
Requirements analysis, project control, strategy and planning.
Software and APIs, scalable design and system optimization.
"Agentic" paradigms, context management and applied knowledge for software development.
Python, PHP, JavaScript, C++, Clarify, WinDevβ¦
HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Vue, Reactβ¦
MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Access, SQL Server.
Linux / Unix, server administration and production environments.
Unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
Azure, Docker, Jenkins, CI/CD.
Cloud solution implementation, container management and deployment automation.
In short... everything needed to design and deploy robust and innovative digital solutions :)
π― THE LEGEND BEGINS: I arrived as a young padawan and they told me "hey, can you set up this Web thing so we can easily edit product content?". So I grabbed my magic keyboard and said "Hold my beer!" πΊ
β‘ GOD MODE ACTIVATED: I built a digital empire from LITERALLY nothing. Linux server from zero, epic Intranet, Portal cooler than Netflix, PLM that makes engineers cry with emotion, a Web that syncs EVERYTHING like black magic β¨
πͺ BOSS LEVEL 2018: ERP Sage X3 appears! "It's dangerous to go alone, take this!" *migrates and integrates like a boss*. After having set everything up by myself, great code warriors joined who helped me create an API to rule them all (Lord of the Rings style), integrations with NiFi and a supreme level of architecture ποΈ
π€ MANAGEMENT TRUST: The company fully trusted my vision and gave me carte blanche to digitize EVERYTHING digitalizable. Apps for clients, sales, departments... If a process exists, we can help!
π CURRENT STATUS: CTO & IT Department Leader, commanding a squad of 4 highly specialized code ninjas. We continue evolving the infrastructure like there's no tomorrow and implementing AI that makes the company look like it's from the future π€
ποΈ THE IMPOSSIBLE MISSION: CompuData Santander (the national kings of civil construction management) had a brilliant idea in 2008: "Hey Jorge, how about we renew ALL our technology and call it SOGEX?". Me: "Challenge accepted!" πͺ
π§ RESEARCHER MODE ACTIVATED: I became the leader of the R&D team and together we developed the foundations of an epic design model using WinDev (a 4th-5th generation language that sounds like science fiction but is real). The goal: create a management package so good it would make users cry with joy πβ¨
π― BOSS MODE ON: As Development Manager, I maintained a laser focus on building a structure so stable and organized it looked like military architecture. The challenge: develop windows and modules at light speed while managing users, controlling errors like a ninja, handling real-time access and configuring permissions like the very administrator of the universe π
π BONUS LEVEL: And the best part of all... thanks to this epic experience I was able to move to Cantabria! From Madrid to the green paradise of the north, where I discovered that remote work already existed before it was mainstream ποΈβ¨
π‘ THE ONO SAGA: Coritel S.A from the Accenture Group was ONO's right hand (the kings of Broadband in Spain πͺπΈ). When ONO decided to conquer the entire national territory, there I was, ready to rumble! π₯
βοΈ CLARIFY WARRIOR: I became a master of Clarify, developing and modifying modules like a DJ mixing music, but with ClearBasic and Oracle. Integration of functionalities, new requirements, incident resolution in the maintenance area... basically I was the official "fix-it-all" π οΈ
π HEROIC PLOT TWIST: I was chosen for a special 3-month mission on the Caritas project (Accenture Foundation). My mission: design and develop a .NET Web Service that connected the external page with the internal manager. Because saving the world also requires good software architecture πβ¨
π₯ FINAL BOSS LEVEL: Last project with Siebel, maintaining and developing the administrative system for DIAGEO (the masters of spirits in Spain). Because after so much code, someone had to make sure the apps worked as well as their products π»
In addition to enjoying my current job, I'm involved with several personal projects or for friends, among which these stand out:
A comprehensive web application to help with order management for ecological consumption groups, facilitating the organization and distribution of local and sustainable products.
An innovative algorithm designed to facilitate decision-making in communities and organizations through decentralized governance systems, promoting democratic participation and transparency in collective decision-making processes.
An editable website for the association of the same name, where I am an active member and volunteer, promoting ecological awareness and environmental activism.
A specialized online platform for controlling agricultural land measurements that allows importing and exploiting information efficiently.
A web application to observe and manage your consumption habits, promoting financial awareness and responsible consumption.
I have always believed in the importance of cultivating balance between the two brain hemispheres: logic and creativity. Computing and project management constantly stimulate the analytical side, but for many years I have been passionate about enriching the creative and vital side with activities that bring perspective, joy and connection with others.
I enjoy my 400mΒ² vegetable garden, caring for the mycelium with permaculture and love for phytotherapy. I collaborate with EfectoecolΓ³gico and El Viejo Roble, promoting environmental and cultural projects.
Musician (guitar and more instruments) and craftsman: furniture, wooden figures, leather and lyres made with recycled strings. Designer of cooperative board games and homemade escape rooms.
Ham radio operator (EA9093URE), constantly learning electronics and antenna manufacturing. Amateur astronomy enthusiast and defender of gamification as a learning method.
Kundalini yoga teacher and meditation practitioner. My family is always the most important thing. I actively participate in Waldorf Cantabria and other non-profit associations.
Over the years I have verified that all these passions have a direct impact on my professional life: they foster creativity, lateral thinking and the ability to find innovative solutions. In short, I like to transform each area into an opportunity for learning, play and growth β¨.
